When we sat down with this gently used 2011 '59 Reissue (R9) for the first time, we were immediately struck by how loud and open it sounds when just playing it unplugged - and - how lightweight it is. Great Les Paul's, in our experience, tend to have a bit of Telecaster snap to them - they're brighter and more open than you'd expect.
We quickly plugged into one of our TopHat amps...the results? Fantastic. Great LP midrange punch and that top-end clarity we were talking about. It's a very resonant, open sounding guitar that sounds great either overdriven or clean (something some LP's can struggle with). Think Dicky Betts' tone - that's the sort of tone we were hearing from this LP. Inspiring, you ask? Absolutely.
For our money, this 2011 R9 is the needle in the Les Paul haystack. It's damned near perfect. There. We said it.

Very Good+ condition. A few small indentions scattered around the body and one on the back of the neck. We weren't bothered by it when playing as it feels a bit like a vintage guitar in this way - meaning the guitar is that good that we don't mind things like this.
