Gibson's introduction of the CS-336/356 line in the early 2000s brought with it a unique tonal combination of the historic ES-335 and Les Paul models, all in a lightweight and compact format.
2003 Gibson Custom Shop CS-356 in a very rare Natural finish just in! This is one of the earlier examples of what was a relatively new design for Gibson, combining elements of the ES-355 and an LP (Custom) for one cool, compact, visually and tonally striking electric!
The AAA (maybe there are more 'A's, but probably not less!) top with the Natural finish contrasting against the multi-ply body binding and rich Mahogany back and sides is highlighted further by gold hardware throughout, a beautiful multi-ply tortoise pickguard and the classic 'Custom' fingerboard dressing of multi-bound Ebony and large pearl block inlays. This is, of course, capped off the by the matching 'Custom' style headstock with the same multi-ply binding and a split diamond peghead inlay. Talk about Best Dressed!
Think LP tones with a little bit more sweetness and "air", or 335 tones with more attack and fundamental power. A really cool in-between that is super comfortable to play, and looks truly amazing.
Condition: Excellent. Very well maintained with very light signs of play wear throughout. All original gold hardware is very clean with light patina. Frets are in great shape.
