"The Radar is our take on classic “import” guitars of the ‘60s that put their own twist on iconic American designs. Our goal was to create something that is instantly familiar and completely its own."
While the Frank Brothers Sonar leans toward a Fender-style design, the Radar firmly plants itself in Gibson territory with its 24.75" scale length, twin humbuckers, and SG-inspired horns. But make no mistake—the Radar has a personality all its own.
Dressed in a really cool looking Silver Burst finish, this guitar instantly inspires thoughts of alternate tunings, gain pedals, and channeling your inner Kim Thayil of Soundgarden. It’s easy to imagine him rocking this guitar, and we couldn’t resist playing a few of our favorite Soundgarden riffs when first sitting down with it.
Though the Radar has a straightforward setup—two humbuckers with individual volume and tone controls, plus a 3-way switch—it’s incredibly versatile, delivering a wide range of tones, both clean and overdriven.
Overall, the Radar feels like a more robust SG, with a slightly fatter neck that will be comfortable and familiar for any Gibson fan. It’s also well-balanced, making it ideal for seated playing. A fantastic instrument that'll hang with anything we carry!

Brand Story
As the Frank Brothers' first dealer in 2016—thanks to a glowing recommendation from Toronto-based master builder Joseph Yanuziello—we recognized right away that these guitars were something special.
Joseph’s impeccable craftsmanship and discerning eye for quality have always guided our choices, and the Frank Brothers' instruments lived up to every expectation.
