1967 Fender Telecaster in original Olympic White finish with factory Bigsby just into the shop!
It's not every day we see a vintage Tele roll through here in this configuration, but man, is it cool or what?! And how do we know it's a factory job? Take a look at the back of the body and notice there are no string-through holes and ferrules. A true Bigsby top-loader here!
This custom color '67 also boasts a wonderful Medium C carve consistent with many of the mid to late year builds, and a Rosewood fingerboard to boot. The original frets are on the lower side but still offer nice vintage feel.
The original single coil pickups sound great, with a warm, full neck pickup to complement the bold and bridge bridge pickup. Modified somewhere along the way to "modern" Tele wiring specs (the original dark circuit existed through 1967), it still retains its original potentiometers, switch, plate, and knobs.
The Bigsby bridge setup combines a conversion plate of sorts with the Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridge, using the thimble post system along with threaded steel saddles in conjunction with the Fender-branded B5 tailpiece. We replaced of the saddle screws and swapped out a tired original Bigsby spring for a fresh (and taller) one to keep that beautiful vibrato functionality going, and it feels great!
Getting into a Bigsby Tele from this period under 8lbs is also quite impressive, which this one does by a couple of ounces. It's nicely balanced and comfortable, and with a springier overall feel it offers a slightly more relaxed playing experience when it comes to string tension.
Paired with its original hardshell case.
