1967 Fender Pro Reverb just into the shop!
Often dubbed the "Baby Twin", this 40 watt 2x12 combo is one of the classic combos from Fender's most prolific era of amplifier production. They offer big, bold clean tone at friendlier volumes than the 80-watt powerhouse Twin Reverb, and will break up with some pleasing grit earlier on in the volume sweep as well.
This is a great sounding example with a pair of Utah drivers that sound quite similar to Oxfords from the same era - leaner, tighter bass with nice midrange and a little more sparkle in the top end. The speakers are likely original to the amp, with date codes that put them as manufactured in the 31st week of 1966.
It has survived close to 60 years in great shape with very little wear throughout. The tolex is clean and free of any major nicks, and the grill cloth remains tight with just a small stain in the upper right corner to show for any true wear. Our favorite amp tech Stan Day went through this one and gave it a clean bill of health by way of a recap, new power tubes, and a 3-prong cord. Its big, bold, and punchy voice shines bright and is ready for another half-century of music making!
