1954 Fender Deluxe 8 Lap Steel in its original finish with an amazing sounding string-through pickup!
These console-style lap steels offer expanded range than the traditional 6-string models, making them great for the player who needs to navigate multiple keys and/or styles of music. Tuned to C6, it sounds fantastic through the original single-coil pickup. The solid Ash body has loads of natural resonance that the high-wind pickup complements with excellent sustain. This Deluxe 8 will handle old country tunes with ease, but it'll also work well in Folk, Americana, and Roots music as a great textural instrument (think Greg Leisz or Eric Haywood).
It has remained original throughout, showing of the factory masking tape application inside the control cavity of 'Gloria 8-16-54'. The electronics are original to the guitar as are the Kluson tuners. The original finish has a really nice almost Cremona burst finish to it. Although not original to the instrument, it does come paired with a nice vintage lap steel case that certainly looks the part.
