This Roasted '61 Strat conjures images of years on the road playing in sweaty clubs, putting in the time, each ding and scratch telling a story.
While this guitar will cover a ton of ground like any great Strat, for some reason this one just screams Texas Blues - and not just in the looks department. Plugged in, it has 'that' sound. Beautiful Hendrix/SRV-esq 2 and 4 position tones, quintessential neck position tones, and a killer bridge pickup that'll cut through the thickest band mix without getting shrill.
The Large C (.85-.99") neck carve fills your left hand nicely and makes bends a breeze. If you like slightly fatter necks - though not a baseball bat - this carve will be right up your alley.
This Strat features a "roasted" Ash body and maple neck. If you're new to roasted body/neck guitars you're in for a treat. The "roasting" process approximates what happens to wood naturally as it ages which yields a very resonant, stable, and lightweight guitar. Combined with a great setup, pickups, and relic job, this guitar gets you about as close as possible to a prized vintage Strat.
