Description

The precursor to the current Fender Ultra line, the American Deluxe Series introduced players to a more modern, high-end take on the classic Strat and Tele guitars. To achieve this goal, Fender used a modern 2-post tremolo, compound radius fingerboard with abalone dots and 22 frets, locking tuners, and versatile electronics (S-1 switch, etc...).

This is a really easy to play, lightweight Strat (7 lbs!) that is quite loud and resonant when played acoustically. The previous owner installed a new guard, DiMarzio pickups - a DP182 in the bridge position and DP188's in the middle and neck positions - along with 500K DiMarzio pots, giving this guitar a much hotter voice along with a Valley Arts-like vibe/look. Essentially, you've got a single coil sized Super Distortion pickup in the bridge and more traditional PAF tones coming from the middle and neck pickups. It's a great sound that can handle a surprising range of styles (ie, not just harder tones) and really complements the more modern leanings of this model.

Condition: Very good. There are dings and scuffs scattered around the body of the guitar, pickmarks on the guard, and a few minor indentations on the back of the neck (along the skunk stripe - we weren't bothered by them when playing). The setup feels great and the electronics work as they should. Very, very little fret wear.
