1958 Fender 5E9-A 'Narrow Panel' Tremolux in excellent condition just in! The Tremolux is one of the most popular tremolo amplifier models in Fender's history, combining elements of the classic 5E3 Deluxe with a twin 6V6 cathode-biased output section with a lush tube-powered tremolo circuit, all packaged up in a larger cabinet. At about 18 watts output, it pushes a similar amount of volume to a great Deluxe, but with a bigger, more extended low end and a slightly tighter overall feel.
Based on the factory tube chart stamped 'HG' on the inside of the cabinet, this Tremolux dates from July of 1958. A recent output transformer swap and newer Jensen P12Q alnico speaker along with the installation of a three-prong power cord are all that keep this very clean example from being 100% original. It's a spectacular sounding amp, particularly when paired with a great single coil Fender or P90-loaded Gibson. The often missing and quite rare original wooden wedge tremolo footswitch is also clean and fully functioning.
