If you want to settle down for the night with a little "Yesterday," a Texan from this era has THAT SOUND.
Why We Love This
Aside from the fact that we're huge Beatles fans, we love the Epiphone Texan for its unique, underdog status. Essentially a Gibson J-45 with a Martin scale length, Texans are typically great, crisp sounding guitars that will punch in the same weight class as any more-popular flattop of their era. Sure, if you want to settle down for the night with a little "Yesterday" on the couch, a Texan from this era has THAT SOUND (Mr. McCartney's guitar was a '65). But the Martin scale length makes Texans underrated flatpicking guitars; and they excel in open tunings as well. This particular instrument is a first-class example of the model, in excellent, original condition save only for a bone saddle installed in place of the original plastic one. You'll find the expected lacquer checking and dings, but this is a very clean 57 year old guitar with wonderful tone. If that's your wheelhouse, and you're looking for a slope shouldered dreadnought, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. Price includes hardshell case.
