Have A Question?

This 1965 Epiphone Cortez has just come in for consignment! Sporting the optional (and very cool) iced-tea style Sunburst finish and the "wider slim neck" (i.e. 1 9/16" instead of 1 5/8"), this is a great-sounding example of a Cortez perfectly suited to a player who values sound over cosmetics. The Cortez was Epiphone's answer to the Gibson B25 ~ essentially, their "LG" body modestly redesigned for the folk era. This one sounds suprisingly good under a flatpick and exhibits beautiful shimmer when fingerpicked as well.
Condition: this is a player-grade guitar, which is stable and solid, but has had the following repairs. A new Brazilian Rosewood bridge has been installed to cover the footprint of another, previously installed, oversized bridge. Several cracks have been repaired, including a now-invisible headstock crack which has been finished over. It has also been refretted with EVO wire -- all work done by noted luthier, and friend of TME, Laurent Brondel. Priced with a non-original hard case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
