Joe honed his chops over five years at Collings Guitars, and it shows. From fit and finish to fretwork and balance, the Magretti is a study in high-end, boutique-level craftsmanship.

One of the best things about electric guitars? They’re endlessly reinventable. Sure, we all love the timeless Fender and Gibson designs - but look beyond the usual suspects and you’ll find really interesting builders from the early days of electric guitar design like Paul Bigsby, Antonio Pioli...and modern builders like Joe Parker.

Joe’s Magretti model, hand-built in Eugene, Oregon, blends modern refinement with mid-century cool. Think bolt-neck construction, 25.5" scale, and a tasteful mix of materials - a swamp ash body (chambered), maple neck, and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard bound in ivoroid as the base. The neck? A comfortable Oval C carve with medium stainless frets that feels immediately familiar. Inspired by classic offsets, the body features deep German carves that lend movement, style, and ergonomic ease.

Tone-wise, it’s a standout: Gemini Twin Mag Single Coils offer clear, articulate sound with strong fundamentals that land somewhere between a Duo Jet and a Les Paul (an LPs punch and authority). Add a Bigsby B5 (that works!), plus Gotoh locking tuners, and you’ve got expressive performance with rock-solid tuning.

This is a guitar built with intent and soul—equal parts sonic tool and sculptural beauty. Joe’s work has fans in high places (including former Fender Masterbuilder Jay Black), and for good reason. Like Yanuziello, Koll, and Probett, Parker builds guitars that feel like future classics.

Bottom line? If you’re looking for something off the beaten path—with pedigree, performance, and a personality all its own—the Magretti delivers.
