Description
This incredibly cool, Rustic Redwood Mendocino Junior puts a twist on the classic LP Junior concept by forgoing the traditional single bridge pickup in favor of a single neck pickup.
When a guitar's specs are as simple as what you find on a Junior style guitar - a single pickup, wrap bridge, volume/tone, and the body and neck - all of these components need to be top-notch in order to achieve something special. We think it's safe to say that Grez knocked it clear out of the park in this regard.
Featuring a rustic Redwood body, Honduran mahogany neck, Fralin Big Single Mini pickup, Mojoaxe Bridge, Cream Guard and Binding, Matte French Polish Neck, Back & Sides, and custom knobs...
The results?
Incredible. Dynamic, lively, super resonant and lightweight...the Fralin Big Mini delivers fantastic single coil clarity coupled with the girth and fatness of, say, a humbucker - with surprisingly little hum.
The chunky C carve is incredibly comfortable and easy to play on. Most importantly? This guitar, like all Grez guitars, is just a blast to play. There's really nothing we don't like about it.
TME regulars have likely seen Barry's Mendocino model, a super cool, really musical chambered body electric. The Mendocino Junior represents Barry's venture into solidbody electrics, and the results are phenomenal. Priced w/a Reunion Blues gig bag.
