We have seen only a small handful of Collings guitars with reclaimed Alaskan Blue Bearclaw Spruce. They have all been visually and sonically superlative. The Blue spruce comes from logs that were part of an old logging camp, felled and immersed underwater. The wood has a dark, blueish/green earthy hue that accentuates the natural bearclaw figure. In a rare sinker-on-sinker combination, Collings has paired the top to a set of recovered "Sinker" mahogany with a similarly submerged provenance.
