Gently used Collings MF5V available in the shop! All the appointments and tone of a standard MF5, but finished with a gorgeous oil-based varnish and bound ebony pickguard. Because varnish is a thinner and more flexible finish than lacquer, it allows the whole instrument to resonate more freely. This mandolin is an especially open and resonant example, with a crisp responsive low end and bell-like chime across the board. Built with Collings' exceptional attention to detail, and appointed with an engraved tailpiece, ivoroid binding, and pearl "flourish" headstock inlay.

Condition: Very clean! Varnish is a thin, soft finish so some very light finish marks are to be expected, but this instrument is is very good shape overall with no dings or scratches of note. Priced with original TKL hardshell case.
