Aptly named for wearing its inspiration right on its proverbial sleeve, this gorgeous I-30LC tips its hat to the legendary Kalamazoo-made hollowbody thinline electric we all know and love.
Have you ever seen or played a guitar so good it just made you mad? And we don't mean mad in the literal sense - more like that overwhelming feeling of something just being so right it's wrong, and you straight up can't take it...
That's how we're feeling about this guitar, folks.
With some custom spec requests scribbled down in a quick email to the folks over at Collings, this I-30LC arrived not long after and shattered every expectation we had, and then some. From the slightly tweaked custom Western Shaded top finish to the Walnut back, sides, and neck finish, and topped off with that eye-catching parchment guard and matching truss rod cover, we've got a truly unique and simultaneously classic looking I-30 that gives true reverence to the original thinline electrics of the early 1960s.
Like many other I-30s before it, it comes in a few ounces shy of 6lbs, making it one of the easiest playing electrics on the market. The Lollar P90s have great output with equal parts raw midrange cut and round, percussive low end that continue to prove why they're some of the most popular P90 pickups out there. These guitars handle Jazz and Blues like no other, but easily jump into R&B, Rock, and Country with ease.
What else can be said, frankly?! This is without question the coolest vintage-inspired I-30 build we've ever dreamt up here at TME.
Priced with original hardshell case.
