This very early Collings Traditional dreadnought is a recent addition to our consignment inventory. It features several currently-unobtainable upgrades: torrefied Adirondack Spruce, Madagascar Rosewood, and a Collings handmade vintage-style case. It's also got the bigger, chunky neck profile of the earliest Traditional guitars, and the thunderous sound to go with it. This guitar is wide-open; and it's as full-sounding and throaty as a Collings guitar gets!
Condition: this guitar has been gigged heavily, and we'd rate the overall condition somewhere between "fair" and "good." It's 100% stable, solid, and beautifully set up, but there's plenty of wear including deep pick scratches, dings, and fingernail wear through the finish between the pickguard and the front of the bridge. The Collings case it comes with also shows wear to the tolex (please see photos). In short: this is not a guitar for anyone who likes to scour the surfaces of an instrument in search stray dings. It is, however, a great guitar for anyone in search of a killer Collings bluegrass dreadnought. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
