“Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day.”
~ Bill Collings (1948-2017)
Founded by Bill Collings in Austin, Texas in 1973, Collings Guitars has grown from a one-man shop into one of the most respected names in American acoustic guitar building. The acoustic line covers a wide range of body shapes and styles—Dreadnoughts (D1, D2H, D3), 000s and OMs, 0s and 00s, parlors, and 12-frets - with hand-voiced tops, tight tolerances, and a level of build consistency that's hard to find at any price point. Players from Joni Mitchell and Lyle Lovett to John Mayer and Pete Townshend have spent serious time with them.
The Music Emporium has been Collings' largest dealer worldwide for many years, with one of the deepest in-stock selections of Collings acoustics anywhere. Our team has spent decades getting to know the catalog, the builders, and the small details that separate one Collings from another - the kind of knowledge that's hard to replicate and easy to put to use when you're trying to find the right one.
