Description

Whoa. Even we just had to step back and gawk for a second after opening the case with this guitar. This D-42 from Collings Guitars of Austin, TX, is a completely custom one-off, and a virtually-impossible-to-find modified "Traditional" guitar. This D-42 features an exceptionally lightweight set of Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a torrefied Adirondack top with sunburst finish (these Collings 'bursts just look unbeatable on a baked top). The tone of this guitar is mind-blowing: resonance like you won't believe, with a dark, woody sound that would make even the most dyed-in-the-wool vintage purists scratch their heads in amazement. This current jewel of our Collings collection is housed in one of their handmade vintage-style hard cases. If you're looking for a special Collings guitar, look no further.
