We remember this guitar from when it was spec-built at Collings: it was the first guitar to feature a torrefied top under varnish finish.
Here's a primo bit of unobtanium for the Collings fans out there: a D-42, in A-grade Madagascar Rosewood, torrefied Adirondack Spruce and varnish finish! We remember this guitar from when it was spec-built at Collings: it was the first guitar to feature a torrefied top under varnish finish. And it's only gotten better. The voice is extremely robust; and it's one of the warmest-sounding Collings dreadnoughts we've encountered. The previous owner took excellent care of it -- while there are a few very small marks on the top (varnish is very thin & very soft, after all), this guitar presents in near-mint condition. The setup is perfect, just as it was when it left the Collings shop, and it needs no work at this time. Priced with its original TKL hard case.
