This Collings CJ, with Indian Rosewood back and sides in place of the standard Mahogany, was a very early custom order from the early day's of TME's relationship with the now-storied builder. This tricked-out guitar also sports a Gibson-inspired dark Sunburst, SJ inlays, and fully bound body, neck, and peghead. This now 23-year old guitar has been played--and it shows. It's not a guitar for someone who demands squeaky clean condition (there are a couple noticeable dings on the lower bout, and obvious signs of handling across the surfaces) ... but it most certainly is a guitar for a player looking for an entry way into that fabled Collings power and balance. The guitar is loud and open, and well-suited to both fingerpicking and flatpicking. Priced with its original hard case.
