Why We Love This

This first year 2006 Collings City Limits beautifully captures the vibe of a vintage Les Paul with it's gorgeous "just right" flamed maple top. Make no mistake though, Collings has really refined the classic LP formula to produce what might arguably be one of the best modern Les Paul style guitars on the market.

Like many vintage Les Pauls, this CL has an expertly repaired headstock break - the work was done by Pat DiBurro years ago and is very well done and stable (see pics). Beyond this common repair, the build, playability, and set up are perfect - nice medium action with a slightly taut feel, no doubt part of the reason these guitars capture that "fat single coil" sound we all want in a twin humbucker guitar.

Speaking of tones? Beautiful, clear cleans coupled with sweet, Live at the Fillmore-esq overdriven tones. You can easily cover a lot of ground with this guitar.
