Born out of the idea of having an old mid/late 50s Gibson LP Special modded for humbuckers, this gently pre-owned 290 aims at capturing that slab Mahogany body tone with the bigger, clearer, and sweeter tones of Throbak humbuckers (ER-MXV's).

We love the LP Special-meets-Collings City Limits vibe of this guitar. There's a purity to the design that lets you get down to playing, no muss, no fuss. The lack of a maple top adds an awesome, punchy low-mid warmth, though this guitar has plenty of top-end sparkle to keep things from ever getting muddy. Resonant, lively, and a hell of a lot of fun played clean or overdriven, with Collings' legendary build quality and attention to detail. What's not to love?
