The figured Sycamore back & sides and (striking!) Sinker Redwood top combine to produce a distinctly woody, warm voice.
This one-off 12-fret Collings 000 was built as a display guitar for this year's Fretboard Summit -- but it wasn't completed in time for the show. If we'd been able to play it then, we would've grabbed it right away: not only are its looks stunning, but the sound is something of a revelation as Collings flattops go. The figured Sycamore back & sides and (striking!) Sinker Redwood top combine to produce a distinctly woody, warm voice which includes a surprising amount of low end when played fingerstyle. Players interested in a Collings with an unusually intimate voice, which includes the crisp attack you'd expect but incorporates a fat, warm fundamental, should call us for a detailed description while this guitar is still in the shop! An exceptional sounding instrument, and proof positive that domestic hardwoods can make top-tier acoustic guitars. Priced with hardshell case.
**Please note: the tonewoods used to construct this guitar are not typically available from Collings, and may not be available for re-order.

Brand Story
"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more."
