The combination of the Weissenborn hollow-neck design with a deeper body, akin to that of a Kona, makes for a massive sounding, viscerally moving acoustic lap steel experience.

Why We Love This

The lap steel afficionados on staff are all stoked to see this new Burgin Weissenborn come through the shop! It has been a few years since we were last treated to one of these deep-bodied beauties, and this one is just as warm, punchy, and resonant as we remember.

Mahogany works quite nicely as a tone wood here, offering a strong, thick fundamental note that plays equally well with single-note runs as well chords. Dubbed a Style 2 with the upgrade of rope binding, the aesthetic is clean, the appointments very well executed.

The late, incomparable David Lindley owned two of Paddy Burgin's Weissenborns. Need we say more?
