Description
TME is excited to have our first instrument from acclaimed luthier, Laurent Brondel, in the showroom! We've seen a few Brondel guitars over the years - clients have brought them in just to show them off, and their brilliant sense of design and big, enveloping sound has always left a mark. This A2 (which is Brondel's OM-style guitar) features numerous upgrades from a base model - most notably the insanely beautiful "Plum Pudding" figured mahogany and the bearclaw German spruce top. The guitar's artistry is evident even from a distance, but let's not let discussion of the sound slip through the cracks. This instrument has an absolutely arresting voice and response: it's incredibly easy to coax tone from it, and whether fingerpicked or flatpicked the lightest touch sets it roaring. The sound is more traditional than you might expect. It's woody, in the old-Martin style, with a modern crispness than never becomes too bright or cloying. Rich, detailed and balanced, this is just an incredibly fun guitar to play, and it rewards with a big low end and projection that'll fill a room with sound. We're smitten, and look forward to more Brondel guitars in the near future! Priced with Hoffee carbon fiber case.
