Wow wow wee wow!! This stunning Phoenix V from our good friends at b3 Guitars might just be the perfect blend of a Les Paul and a Tele though Gene Baker and his crew have dialed in a distinct feel and tone that's 100% b3.
Designed to be a Gibson Firebird dressed up in more comfortable Fender Telecaster clothing, b3's Phoenix model brilliantly delivers the best aspects of both company's designs, though this 'flat-top' version pulls more for the Les Paul family vs Firebird. From the incredibly comfy standard C style neck carve to the fast neck-through heel construction, to the gorgeous sounding Lollar pickups (Special T) with a versatile wiring scheme (volume, tone, 4-way), to the rock solid hardware and beautiful finish work, it's all so well thought out and executed. It'd be a mistake to say this is "just" a Gib/Tele-style build though - it's got its own (familiar) feel and truly melds all the best parts of each guitar (Les Paul/Tele) into something new, very inspiring, and just plain cool.
In the market for a high-performance, modern leaning guitar but still want a vintage vibe, feel, tone, and attitude? This is it, friends - just a stunning guitar from one of the best builders in the industry. Priced with hardshell case.
