Regular TME customers will have likely noticed that we're huge Bill Frisell fans. This beautiful Asher T-Deluxe reminds us an awful lot of a Tele Bill uses - a very cool and totally unintentional thing we're sure, but still cool nonetheless.
We love Bill Asher's T-Deluxe model and the way he's pushed the classic Tele design forwards without sacrificing what's great about a Tele. What Bill's heightened on his T-Deluxe model is the Tele's versatility. The T-Deluxe can do classic Tele twang and chime no problem, but, it could do a heck of a lot more thanks for its killer sounding T Blade pickups and 6 position Veritone switch.
The bridge pickup reminds us of a Tele crossed with a P90. Midrange snarl and a touch more output are hallmarks of this pickup. The neck pickup sounds a lot like a really good Strat neck pickup - hollow, bell-like, etc...Both pickups have great dynamic range allowing for Frisell-esq playing all the way to bluesy roots rock. It's a very fun, rewarding guitar to play.
The roasted pine neck/fretboard is a highlight on this guitar. The satin finish feels amazing and the roasting adds a really stable, snappy feel. Hard to articulate, but it's a luxurious feeling neck to play on. The carve is very similar to an early 60s Strat carve, just a bit chunkier. Really, really rewarding and let's be honest, it just looks amazing to boot.
Condition: Excellent. Only light signs of prior ownership are present (it's a relic to boot).
