Using the legendary Fender T-style guitars as a leaping off point, Bill Asher's T-Deluxe model sports an offset body which balances beautifully and adds a more deluxe feel than your average Telecaster.
Played acoustically, this roasted Alder bodied guitar has a lively response and tons of snap & sustain. The chunky C shaped neck carve and 12" radius neck feels incredible - gently broken-in, with a nod toward modern playability (given the radius).
Plugged in there is plenty of classic Tele twang and bite in the bridge position and a killer hollow, round, Strat neck pickup-like tone in the neck position. While the neck "T-Blade" pickup looks like a Charlie Christian pickup, it's not tonally it should be noted. Mix in a 6 position Varitone circuit (chicken head knob), which acts much like a wah-wah pedal, and you can achieve anything from Tele to Junior to faux archtop to controlled (read: useable in a live setting) fuzz tones.
These are killer guitars that make meaningful improvements on a classic. Highly recommend checking one out!
