This sensational-sounding 000-18 from luthier, Matthew Arcara, is the first guitar we've seen from him in nearly two years! Matt's reputation for excellence of build quality and a brilliant tone that straddles the line between dry and crisp has been on the upswing ~ and it's not hard to see why after playing just a few notes on this guitar. The balance and clarity are truly remarkable, yet the instrument retains that fat, bell-like quality in the high end that separates a good guitar from a great one. Sweetness of sound, alongside a silky neck feel and playability, like you'll experience playing this 000-18 is perhaps the hardest quality to uncover in a new guitar.
When we recently sold a 1930 000-18, Matt visited the shop to take measurements of the guitar's internal components and top thickness. This new 000-18 is significantly lighter a guitar than he'd normally make, but sits in a middle ground between bench copy and something a touch more modern ~ in the interest of stability and sonic punch. If it's not obvious, we're quite taken with this guitar, and can't remember ever hearing a better example of the builder's work. PLEK treatment by TJ Thompson. Priced with Crossrock hardshell case.
