As a seasoned archtop builder with over 40 years in the craft, Steve Andersen has always exhibited a strong reverence for early Gibson archtop jazz guitars but with a keen eye for newer innovations to fill the needs of more modern jazz players. This outstanding sounding Model 17 is a fine example of the precision and detail found in all of his work. Simply appointed and beautifully crafted, the Model 17's carved Engelmann spruce top and figured maple back and sides deliver all of the punch and clarity one would want in a jazz box while offering great acoustic warmth and character. A one owner instrument, this Model 17 comes to us lovingly maintained and in excellent condition. As Andersen has recently retired from building, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a fine, professional-grade archtop from highly regarded luthier.
