Every time we introduce players to Tim Bram's Tribute Archtop, their initial curiosity quickly turns into a scramble for their wallet. The feel and tone of these guitars is undeniable.

In recent years, the jazz guitar world has seen a shift toward smaller, more manageable instruments, with the Fender Telecaster gaining a loyal following. (Think of the iconic tones and playing of Bill Frisell and Julian Lage.) But as much as we love our Teles, there’s something irreplaceable about the sound and feel of a classic archtop—whether it’s for the gig, the session, or simply the joy of playing at home.

That said, traditional archtops, much like dreadnoughts, can feel daunting at times (ask anyone with shoulder issues). Their size, string tension, and physical demands often make them less accessible, even for seasoned players. Enter Tim Bram, our friend and master luthier from Pasadena, MD, whose innovative approach is absolutely worth your time and consideration.

Tim’s creations are a revelation: archtops reimagined. By pairing the familiar Telecaster-inspired shape with the tonal richness of a classic archtop, he’s designed a guitar that’s lightweight, easy to handle, and effortlessly playable—without sacrificing the signature sounds archtop lovers crave.

And, of course, these guitars are stunning. With their meticulous craftsmanship and elegant lines, they’re as much a joy to behold as they are to play. Tim’s guitars are made in limited numbers, so if this concept speaks to you, don’t wait—this is your chance to own something truly special (we only see a few each year).
