This gorgeous little 14-fret 00 from the Martin Custom Shop is essentially what you'd get if you started with a Standard Series 00-28 and built it with Hawaiian Koa instead of Rosewood and Spruce. This guitar turned the heads of everyone on staff at TME: it's got a surprising amount of punch and fullness for a non-Spruce-topped guitar; and the Koa used to build it is reminiscent of the material you'd see on an instrument like this from the 1930's (if such a thing ever existed). The voice is warm and mellow, with plenty of Martin low-midrange thunder for a small-bodied guitar: this would make a lovely fingerpicker, but it's got the wallop to play backup in an old-time jam and not miss a beat. Priced with Martin thermoplastic hard case (for a style-28 guitar).

  • All Hawaiian Koa construction
  • Scalloped bracing (Adirondack Spruce, 1/4")
  • Ebony bridge & fingerboard
  • Grained Ivoroid binding
  • Diamond & Squares fingerboard inlay
  • 24.9" Scale length
  • 1 3/4" Nut width
  • 2 5/32" String spacing
  • Gold Grover tuners
  • Koa peghead veneer
  • Old-style headstock logo
  • Martin thermoplastic hard case
