Pronounced "Pete", and named for Nik's youngest son, the Piet in practice feels like you took the spirit and snarl of a great Les Paul Special and the comfort, snap, and beautifully simple design of a great Fender and blended them together.

Why We Love This

"This model has been an exciting new adventure for me. We’re more known for the mahogany-body vein of guitar making, and so creating something totally in the alder-body-maple-neck mould meant exploring some new ground for me as a luthier. In fact, that drove the creation of this new model more than anything. There was no business strategy or deep calculation behind it; I wanted to push myself as a guitar builder and explore something new." ~ Nik Huber

The Piet captures everything we love about the German-based master luthier's work - exceptional attention to detail, a refined overall feel, gorgeous tonewoods, and inspiring tones. Unlike other Huber guitars which typically feature set-neck construction and favor humbuckers (Nik's mentor was none other than Paul Reed Smith it should be noted), the Piet is a stripped down, Fender-esq affair.

Like all great design, the devil is in the details and the Piet offers quite a few details which may go unnoticed at first glance. Mastery Trem? Nope, that's our friend Chris Swope's excellent Descendant bridge and tremolo setup - dig the Tele saddles on the bridge. Those saddles add a bit of the Fender snap we were just talking about...

Gold foil pickups? In appearance, yes, but under the hood are a pair of Haussel P90s that sound incredible. Here's where the Gibson side of the coin starts to make its presence known.

We could go on for hours here, but suffice it to say we're huge fans of Nik's work and the Piet. If you're looking for high-quality vintage tone in a refined top-tier solidbody build, this might well be the guitar for you.
