2009 Gustavsson Bluesmaster Custom '59 just in!

We've long admired Johan Gustavsson's guitars all while never really having the chance to get our hands on them over the years. There's a reason for that- so many JG owners don't sell their guitars. They have the feel and tone of a vintage guitar with the artistry and craftsmanship of a single-luthier instrument.

This Bluesmaster Custom '59 encompasses just that - Kalamazoo-influenced design from the legendary late 50s electrics and JG's masterful eye and execution of build. He's also paired up some amazing tonewoods in this guitar - Honduran Mahogany for the body and neck, a gorgeous figured Maple top, and rich, dark slab of Brazilian Rosewood for the fingerboard. Expertly finished in a thin nitrocellulose with a faded Cherry Sunburst that'll stop you in your tracks, and you've got a guitar nearly unmatched in presentation.

The Wolfetone Legend humbuckers bring some powerful PAF punch to the mix, with the sweetness Alnico 2 magnets are known for. A great pairing with a guitar that has some great acoustic properties.

The chunky C neck fills out the hand quite nicely, and with a leaner taper, it never really feels fatiguing as you move through positions. The JG wraptail offers enhanced intonation with the quickness of attack we often associate with this bridge style.

The guitar shows signs of normal playwear through, but clearly had an owner that appreciated the instrument's rarity and quality. It has been very well maintained, with most of said wear coming from general contact (light scuffs and nicks around the controls, some light contact wear on the back of the body, pick wear on the pickguard, etc). The bridge pickup mounting ring has some fractures in it but it's solid. We performed a level crown and polish on the original frets and the guitar is playing as good as ever!

Paired up with a CNB aluminum hardshell case. Includes original COA.
