Description
If you couldn’t already tell, Barry Grzebik knocked this one clear out of the park! We’re huge fans of Barry’s work, and when we approached him about building this Mendocino, we knew he’d be just as excited as we were.
What we have here is a custom spec Mendocino with an absolutely gorgeous bound dark burst quilted redwood top. The satin finished trans white mahogany neck and body provides a striking contrast to the richness and depth of color that a stunning piece of figured redwood can offer. The wooden pickup rings and control knobs really tie the aesthetic together, presenting a truly custom look and feel to an incredible instrument.
While it’s easy to be mesmerized by the looks of this featherweight beauty, we’re equally impressed with the sound and playability. We hear an open, airy tone reminiscent of an ES-335 combined with clear and focused overtones provided by the redwood top and wraparound bridge. The Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers are very well balanced and articulate, and highlight all of the wonderful tonal nuances that the combination of tonewoods and excellent build quality provide.
Price includes Reunion Blues gig bag.
