Superb, characterful sound and an uncanny, spot-on classic Loar look, from one of the most highly regarded mandolin makers on the planet.

Absolutely knockout, previously uncirculated Gilchrist Model 5 just in to the shop! Bought new in 2003, this mandolin has remained with the original owner for the last twenty years. It comes to us in excellent condition, and sounds as magical as you imagine it would. "X" braced, it sports a big, engaging bass, a forgiving, musical midrange, very satisfying chop, and a standout, singing E string that makes for an engaging experience playing melodies up the neck.

While folks will have a blast driving this mandolin hard, it is just as inspiring played in a more intimate fashion. Just a wonderful, dynamic instrument.
