As Gibson J-50s go, this 1952 model is a particularly nice-sounding example.
As Gibson J-50s go, this 1952 model is a particularly nice-sounding example. It's got a big, thumpy low end, perfect for what makes a Gibson great ~ its inimitable round, full voice that's perfect for banging out chords and accompanying a vocal. Dry, present mids, and a snappy treble register make this an excellently balanced and supremely versatile guitar.
The overall condition of this guitar is very good. The original finish is very clean, and only shows the expected checking and signs of playwear. The original saddle has been replaced with a compensated one; but if anyone has reset the neck, it's about the cleanest job imaginable. The internal structure and components are original and very clean. The guitar plays beautifully, with medium-low action under tension of light (.012-.053) strings. Priced with non-original hard case!
Please note: used instruments are, well, used. We pride ourselves on thoroughly vetting, and carefully photographing, each pre-owned instrument we sell, but many of them carry subtle signs of handling that can escape even the most discerning eye. If you have questions about the condition of this instrument, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. We're here to help!
