If you couldn't already tell, we're big fans of the Oxblood finish. Collings just has it down, plain and simple. Add in some of the tasteful light aging, and you've got a pretty fierce looking double-cut.
This no-frills variant represents the best in those classic student model solidbodies from the late 1950s, minimally appointed and still sleek. The Throbak 52/54 P90 pickup paired with the slab mahogany body delivers equal amounts of clarity and sparkle with a great midrange punch and authority. Clean tones are sweet with great note bloom and natural compression, and overdriven tones provide that classic bite with a bit more edge than a humbucker. This is a great example of what a single-pickup electric is capable of. More dynamic with great tonal control via the volume/tone controls, you'll start to forget about the absence of a neck pickup.
If you're looking for a more refined, ultra-high quality LP Junior style guitar that maintains the feel and vibe of a vintage example, this is your guitar.
Priced with hardshell case.
