Why We Love This
This Collings City Limits Deluxe, in their illustrious Tiger Eye finish, features an incredible maple top with gorgeous, figured quilting. We all know that looks only matter when there's some substance under the surface, so, how's this thing sound and play? Let's start with playability - that's easy. Simply put, it's effortless thanks to a perfectly shaped "medium/fat C" neck carve and immaculate fretwork. The carve is very similar to what you'd find on a real late 50's Gibson (slightly less shoulder and girth than you'd think).
Tonally? This CL Deluxe has a lively, punchy, and articulate voice that sustains for days (cue the Spinal Tap jokes). Pull up a clean tone on your amp, strike a big, open chord and get ready to smile. This guitar defies the stereotype that Les Paul style guitars only sound good with some gain - not so here. If your country chops are in order you can pull twangy bridge pickup tones all the way through warm, round, jazzy neck pickup tones...Overdriven tones are dripping with harmonics, clarity, and power. The combo of Collings craftsmanship and Throbak's pickup winding chops yields one hell of a fun guitar.
A masterfully executed instrument that's worthy of enjoying today and/or passing down through the family. Priced with hardshell case.

Brand Story
"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more."
