How long has The Music Emporium been a Taylor dealer?
Nearly 50 years. We started selling Taylor Guitars in the late 1970s, going back to the days when Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug would drive up to our store and sell us guitars out of their van.
We are proud to be one of Taylor's longest-standing dealers, and the relationship has only deepened under Andy Powers' leadership of the brand.
What Taylor series does The Music Emporium carry?
We carry the full Taylor lineup, from the accessible Academy Series, GS Mini, and Baby Taylor through the mid-tier 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, and 700 Series, on to the 800, 900, Builder's Edition, Legacy Collection, Gold Label, Taylor Custom, and Taylor Presentation tiers.
As a long-standing Taylor dealer near Boston, we typically have a deep cross-section of the line in stock at our Lexington, MA showroom.
Where can I try a Taylor guitar near Boston?
Our showroom at 165 Massachusetts Ave. in Lexington, Massachusetts is about 20 minutes from downtown Boston, and players travel from across New England to compare Taylors side by side. We are open Monday through Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 10am-5pm.
Who founded Taylor Guitars, and who runs it now?
Taylor Guitars was founded in 1974 by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug in El Cajon, California. Today the company is led by Andy Powers, who joined as Master Builder in 2011 and now serves as CEO. Andy is responsible for innovations like V-Class bracing and the Gold Label and Legacy Collection series.
Do you sell used Taylor guitars?
Yes. Alongside new Taylors we regularly stock preowned and B-stock Taylor instruments, each inspected and set up by our team before it is listed. Selection rotates frequently, so it is worth checking the page or visiting the showroom to see what is currently in stock.
Can I trade in or sell my Taylor guitar?
