Hidden Gems #20: Pedals
This edition of Hidden Gems finds the Electric Staff sharing their current favorite pedal in the shop.
Hidden Gems #20 | Hidden Gems is a series we started based on a simple idea: we each take a turn at sharing our current favorite instrument(s) in the shop. A bit of a show-and-tell, if you will.

29 Pedals Euna
"This may not be the flashiest entry but I dare to say that the Euna from 29 Pedals is one of the most powerful pedals in our current lineup. The Euna is a powerful buffer that features an incredibly simple control panel that is engineered to easily shape the player's tone at the start of a pedalboard chain."

Walrus Audio SLOER Stereo Ambient Reverb
"Wanna get lost for a few hours? The SLOER instantly transports you to a vast galaxy of ambient tones. It's been a while since I tried a pedal that instantly transported me to another dimension. The manipulation of sound here is quite astonishing and also easy to achieve. Single notes roll into celestial clouds of sound. The profundity of this pedal will elicit deep philosophical questions: Where do we come from? Where are we going?? And for an experience that will alter time and space, try it in stereo-- forget about it!!"

Jam Pedals Tubedreamer
"This is my favorite pedal in the shop because it’s a no frills overdrive in a pedalboard-friendly sized box. Sometimes simple is better and this one certainly delivers. It has a warm and rich overdriven sound and it’s super easy to dial in a tone that works with the rest of your rig. It has a high gain toggle switch which gives you some versatility without over complicating anything. If you’re looking for a simple and great sounding tubescreamer then this is the pedal for you."

29 Pedals JFET
"'More tone, less tweak' has become my mantra over the past few years, and the JFET from 29 Pedals is helping me practice what I preach. Deceptively versatile, simple, and works great as both a stacking and standalone boost. Jesse makes incredible pedals!"

Jam Boomster
"As someone who usually lives in the low to moderate gain world when it comes to pedals, I’m always looking for a good solo boost that doesn’t add too much additional clipping or saturation to my tone. The JAM Boomster is an awesome clean boost/buffer combo that does just that. Plus, you can also use it as a volume pedal via the expression jack, thereby avoiding any potential tone loss from having a volume pedal inline — even when the pedal is off!"

Universal Audio Galaxy '74 Tape Echo & Reverb
"I'm a huge delay junky - truthfully, I own an embarrassing amount of them. I mean, how many delays does one need, right? Well, one more is the correct punchline to that old joke, and this Galaxy '74 is tops on my list. One thing I always look for in a delay is how the delays trail off. With an analog pedal there are varying degrees of degradation - some getting really distorted, some less so. With a tape style delay, such as this '74, you get beautiful, washed out trails that are brilliant for textural playing / parts. When Andy Summers was in the shop recently, even he dug it so it's gotta be great, right?"
