Designed for John Mayer’s iconic work with Dead & Company, the PRS “Dead Spec” Silver Sky reimagines his signature model with nods to Jerry Garcia’s legendary "Alligator" tones. This limited-edition guitar (only 1,000 made) features notable spec changes, creating a distinctive sound and feel.

The Swamp Ash body, finished in a thin satin nitro Moc Sand, beautifully highlights the wood grain while delivering exceptional resonance. The modified Gen III Tremolo bridge is fixed to the body, functioning as a string-through hardtail for added sustain and warmth, thanks to the retained brass block. A brass nut and string retainer bar further enhance tonal richness and clarity.

Perhaps the coolest feature is the brass-plate Alembic Blaster preamp, which allows players to dial in a boost of 3-14 dB. Whether you’re adding punch to solos or compensating for long stage cables, the preamp maintains pristine note separation while offering dynamic tonal flexibility. The circuit is bypassed when off, ensuring a pure signal path.
