Description

New to the Novo Guitars name? Chances are, you're well acquainted with founder Dennis Fano's work. Dennis has been making genre (and mind) bending guitars for over a decade and his ability to cross-pollinate elements of Gibson, Fender, Silvertone, Kay, and Rickenbacker guitars into something entirely new is the stuff of legend.

Something about the Serus body shape works so well with the classic 3-tone sunburst, double-bound look, don't you agree? Bonus points? Dennis achieved the Strat arm contour on the top of the body with binding. Not something you see very often and it speaks of the Novo crew's attention to detail and commitment to seeing an idea through. Nicely done.

These guitars are so incredibly comfortable to play. The neck....we could go on about this aspect of the guitar for paragraphs. Suffice it to say, it feels perfectly aged, rounded, shaped, with immaculate fret work. It's a highlight on all Novo guitars in truth. The carve leans towards the early 60s in terms of girth and shape, though this carve is Novo's "Chunky C" which is a touch larger than other Novo's we've had.

Equipped with Fralin T-syle pickups, it sounds exactly like you'd think - which is to say, like a great, twangy Tele. Enough bite to know you're playing a classic Tele, but not overly so or ice-picky. We're huge fans of Fralin pickups and are glad to see Dennis and crew are as well. Classic tones, 'nuff said.

Condition: Like new (these are relic'd guitars). Looks to have been played infrequently.

Looking past the excellent build quality, playability, and tones...there's something simple, joyous, and just plain fun about playing this guitar. You get the impression that the Novo team has a blast making these guitars - you can just feel it when you sit down with one. Before you know it, an hour has passed, your finger tips are sore, your ears are ringing...and you're grinning ear to ear. But that's the whole point, no?

Priced with a deluxe Mono gig bag.
