Description
Following in the footsteps of his groundbreaking Fano Guitars lineup, heralded electric guitar luthier Dennis Fano is now building a new series of guitars under the Novo Guitars brand. These new guitars are just as exquisite and unique as his first custom made electrics dating back to the early 2000s, with a level of craftsmanship, design, and tone that first put Dennis on the map.
This used Serus J model from 2019 showcases all of Dennis's skills and experience in a modified offset design, with hand selected quality tonewoods, expert finish work, and high end hardware, electronics, and pickups. Taking its queues from the classic Jazzmaster, the Novo Serus J simplifies and also maximizes the tone and feel of a great offset electric.
We hear some familiar Fullerton tones with the Mastery vibrato bridge and tailpiece, bound maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, and 25.5" scale length, but the guitar identifies itself in full Novo fashion with a pair of great P90 single coil pickups, tempered pine body, an ultra thin 3-tone sunburst nitro finish (a woodgrain lover's delight, really), and a great 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard with distinctive polished aluminum control plate.
This particular example is lightly used and in excellent condition, with some minor finish wear on the body (par for the course with a finish this thin). The neck is clean and smooth playing, and the frets show little to no wear. The previous owner replaced the stock Lambertone Ristretto pickups with Lollar P90s, but the original Lambertones are included with the sale.
With the demand for Novos climbing every day, this is a great opportunity to snag a very well-spec'ed Serus J without the wait.
Price includes original hardshell case and original Lambertone P90 pickups.
