The Novo Idris isn’t just another Strat-inspired guitar—it’s a reimagined classic that sets a new standard in design, playability, and tone.
The Idris takes its inspiration from classic Strat-style guitars while infusing it with Novo’s signature creativity and innovation. With bolt-neck construction, a 25 1/2" scale length, three Fralin Vintage Hot single-coil pickups, a 1.65" nut width, and a roasted maple/rosewood neck, it checks all the boxes for Strat enthusiasts. But Novo’s approach brings unique twists that make the Idris truly stand out.
One of its defining features is the roasted pine body—a departure from the more traditional alder or ash used in F-style builds. Paired with distinctive body contours, the Idris strikes a bold aesthetic balance, blending elements of offset guitars, Strats, and perhaps even a touch of Burns Bison flair.
Functionality is where the Idris truly shines. Its ergonomic body contours not only enhance balance but also improve upper fret access and subtly shift the neck’s position, giving the guitar a short-scale feel while maintaining its full 25 1/2" scale length. These thoughtful design elements create a playing experience that’s both inspiring and downright addictive.
Speaking of playability, Dennis Fano’s neck profiles are second to none. The aged necks are smooth, comfortable, and effortlessly playable—bringing to mind the feel of a well-loved vintage guitar. The C-shaped profile, combined with impeccable fretwork and a 9 1/2"–14" compound radius, makes this Idris almost play itself. String tension feels perfectly balanced between Strat slinkiness and Tele tautness, giving it a dynamic and responsive feel.
As for tone? Simply outstanding. The trio of Fralin Vintage Hot pickups deliver glassy, chimey tones with remarkable touch sensitivity and gorgeous compression in the 2 and 4 positions. Wired with a master volume, two tone controls, and 5-way switch, this guitar delivers everything Strat lovers crave, and then some.
