Recent (2017) Northfield 5-Bar Artist Model mandolin just in! Developed in conjunction with Mike Marshall, the Northfield Artist mandolins are produced in limited numbers and feature unique bracing patterns to maximize the sonic potential of each given set of wood. Northfield has voiced the five-bar version for a complex series of harmonics, maximum low-end responsiveness and omnidirectional projection. With an Engelmann spruce top, this instrument has a dry, woody warmth and plenty of power.

This particular mandolin has been converted to a flat fingerboard, with work expertly done by luthier Danny Roberts. It also has an upgraded ebony pickguard, and Nugget style tailpiece. It has been played, and sports some dings and playwear to show for it, as well as some minor fretwear that does not affect playability. An excellent choice for any player who is more concerned with exceptional tone and playability than cosmetic perfection. Priced with Airloom case.
