This Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 VTS AGED has just arrived for consignment! We sold this guitar when it was new; and it's been fastidiously kept by its original owner. The already great 1937-style D-28 platform, with the addition of an aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish, gets the player that extra tick closer to the real thing: this guitar is more open, more responsive, and more complex sounding than anything else built in its style. And while the look of a relic finish may be a somewhat divisive topic, we like to remind our customers that the thinness of this finish is what's really important. If you're chasing the warmth, woodiness, and power of a forward-X D-28, this is as close as you'll get in a new guitar.
While pre-owned, this guitar remains in excellent overall condition. It comes to us from the collection of a trusted, longtime client; and it looks like it hasn't been played much since it was originally purchased (it's been keeping company with some outstanding vintage guitars). All finish wear and "play wear" seen in our photos are parts of the original, factory-distressed finish. Price includes the original Harptone hardshell case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
