This 2014 Martin D-28 Authentic 1937 predates the "Aged" finish that became an option in recent years. With Madagascar Rosewood back & sides, an Adirondack top, and full Authentic build features, this guitar produces the kind of tone that's made a herringbone the stuff of legend -- it's powerful, crisp, and rich-sounding all at once, with the low-end boom demanded by bluegrass rhythm players. As a guitarist who tried it in the shop this past weekend remarked, "No other new guitars sound like this."

To be fair, "New," in this case means, "Not vintage." This D-28 Authentic is approaching its tenth birthday, but remains in excellent condition. The finish is still shiny, and there are no significant cosmetic blemishes or fret wear. The setup remains excellent as well, with medium-low action under tension of medium strings and plenty of saddle height remaining. Priced with its original hard case. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
