We know the feeling - we’ve owned and played these guitars for over five years, and honestly, it might be our favorite model from the California-based father-son team.

So what makes it so special?

Tonally, the DL-90 brings a muscular twist on the classic Tele formula. Yes, it’s loaded with P90s - but Lentz winds their own, and the voicing leans into Fender territory with added midrange richness and clarity. The bridge delivers a punchy, Tele-meets-P90 growl; the neck pickup is warm, round, and full of character - closer to a fat Strat tone than the wooly neck sounds some P90s tend to produce.

Then there’s the wiring, which is deceptively clever: two volumes (one per pickup) and a master tone. Leave the 3-way switch in the middle, and you can seamlessly blend between pickups for an impressively wide tonal range. From chimey rhythm textures to gritty, focused lead tones - it’s all right there.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Lentz without that feel. The DL-90 plays effortlessly, with the slinky, responsive neck feel Lentz fans rave about. Visually, it’s its own animal - equal parts SG, Mosrite, and Duo-Sonic, with a silhouette that feels like a long-lost design from Leo’s workbench.
